Several months prior to our arrival on Hilton Head Island we started sending Paula Traver links to homes we liked on Zillow. We sent MANY links. We were introduced to Lee Simmons through a mutual friend to assist us with finding a home in Hilton Head. It has to be one of the best introductions I have ever had. Lee was the ultimate professional. She started at the macro level working with my wife to identify the communities that best served our wants and desires and really took the time to tour us around the entire island to carefully explain the idiosyncrasies of the different residential areas. When we narrowed down the desired communities, she patiently worked with us to define our specific residential needs and specifications as well as price range and what work we would be willing to do in any targeted house etc. She then went to work on identifying homes that fell within our price range and met our needs.
The biggest compliment I could make of Lee is that she never showed us a house that was outside of something we found interest in and then within a short time period narrowed down the possibilities to eventually the house we made an offer on and purchased that met all our needs and desires. Due to her property knowledge after 20 plus years on the island the transaction process was well managed, the introductions made to the third part professional were excellent which combined all resulted in one of the smoothest transactions I have experienced and I am in commercial real estate!
However, the most important comment I have to make to anyone considering a real estate agent in Hilton Head and why they should choose Lee without hesitation is NOT just Lee's phenomenal knowledge and professionalism BUT the absolute delight of dealing with her as a person. We started working with Paula Traver over a year ago. Having rented an oceanfront home at Hilton Head for our annual family vacation for the last 20+ years, we knew the area well. We love it. When we decided to buy a home on Hilton Head Island, we knew nothing except that we loved it on HHI. We had no knowledge of the housing market, the history of the subdivisions and plantations, what areas were good or bad and for what. We knew nothing. For starters, she is extremely knowledgeable about all things related to real estate, and what she wasn’t sure of, she checked to confirm. Maybe it is her accounting background, but she has a focus for detail, always canvassing for minor issues we wouldn’t have thought of. She followed through on everything she said she would do, and did everything right away. She brought up questions we didn’t think of, contacted those who could help and found answers. She would not have been more tenacious about problem solving and communicating if she were looking for a house for herself – that’s how conscientious she is!
On a more personal level, she seeks to understand, is a great listener, and hears what you’re saying. She is tactful and subtle when needed and more overt when the situation calls for it. She works from the standpoint of what the customer wants and goes from there – she won’t force her thoughts on you unless you ask. In short, you’re the boss and she is helping you achieve your goals.
She would be your colleague and your friend if you choose to work with her. If you end up unhappy with any aspect of your purchase it will not have anything to do with Lorri. One other thing: if you do choose her, you will have a blast – she is also witty and funny. My husband and I recently purchased a villa in Sea Pines. Lorri Lewis was our Real Estate broker and she did a fabulous job for us!
