Memorial Day is over, and many of us enjoyed cookouts, parades, and short trips on a long weekend. It’s our entry into the fun of Summer.

While we certainly honor and commemorate our military several times a year, there’s far too little done for those who serve our country. The men, women, and families can hardly be repaid for the risk and service they’ve given.

But one of the benefits of having served are VA Home Loans. Unfortunately, many people who qualify are unaware of them. And there is another group of people who serve day by day that is also qualified for special home loans.

Today, more homeowners than ever are partnering with real estate agents to sell their home. According to the National Association of Realtors® recent Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, a whopping 89% of sellers worked with an agent to facilitate the sale of their home in 2017.

And the vast majority of those sellers are happy they did.

According to the same report, 85% said they would recommend their agents for future services (with 67% saying they would “definitely” do so). And sellers are following through on those recommendations; the typical seller has recommended their agent twice since selling their home, with ⅓ recommending their agent three or more times.

Why are sellers so happy with their choice to work with a real estate agent? The…

This upcoming weekend is Mother's Day on May 13th. A lot of children come visit their aging parents residing on Hilton Head Island. That is NOT the day to have mom cook so going out to eat lunch or dinner will be a treat for mom. Do try and make reservations.

Baynard Mausoleum on Hilton Head Island

Work is under way to restore the Baynard Mausoleum and Zion Cemetery.  Nestled under a canopy of old oak trees where Mathews Drive and William Hilton Parkway (highway 278) meet is the oldest surviving structure on the island and now a designated listing in the National Register of Historic Places.

Built around 1845 by William E. Baynard, one of the island’s wealthiest cotton planters, the mausoleum served the needs of the dead, but an inscription on its wall urged the survivors to live with “integrity and uprightness.”  Four years after the completion Baynard died at the age of 45 and both he and his wife were interred in the building.

The Zion Chapel of Ease Historic Site was the location of the plantation owners’ first church built on the…

Home staging is not a new phenomenon. In fact, sellers and real estate agents have been using this strategy successfully for many years. When your market is as competitive as Hilton Head Island, home staging can be the differentiating factor for a potential buyer. Not everyone has the vision to see a home’s potential.

The focus of staging is to make a home more marketable by creating the most appealing home to the greatest number of prospective buyers. It should be impersonal enough not to infringe on a buyer’s own sense of style.

Decorating is optional. Staging, on the other hand, is essential – that is if you want to sell your house for the most possible money in the shortest amount of time.

It has been shown, you can make 3 percent more…

great egret with breeding plumage

What a wonderful experience it was purchasing our Sea Pines home with David and Kathy Love! From the minute we met them, we clicked and we knew we would make a great team.

We thoroughly enjoyed learning all about Sea Pines and the surrounding areas from both of them and they took the time to listen to us to fully understand what we were looking for in a home.  We had to work long distance from Colorado and were on a multi year plan to buy our future retirement home.

David and Kathy made the process really easy in assisting us with checking out houses, sending pictures and videos to narrow our search.  Not only did they find us the absolute perfect home which met all our requirements and more, they were invaluable in helping us throughout…
