Loggerhead Sea Turtles on Hilton Head Island
Hilton Head Island has some amazing sights to enjoy but nothing is more awe-inspiring than the amazing journey of the loggerhead sea turtle. And, to make it even more special is that Hilton Head Island reached a milestone in the 2017 sea turtle nesting season with the 100th nest that was laid.
Loggerhead sea turtles are reptiles and are related to land turtles, lizards and snakes. They have powerful flippers and an aerodynamic body and shell to gracefully manage the open ocean waters.
