The Lighthouses’ New Look One of America's’ iconic lighthouses received a makeover earlier this month, and it’s looking sharper than ever! The Harbour Town Lighthouse has become a well-known structure thanks to the RBC Heritage annual golf tournament. You can find this destination on the beautiful Hilton Head Island of South Carolina. To celebrate their 50th anniversary of the golf tournament, the staff gave the lighthouse a whole new look: Plaid! They covered the famous candy-cane striped building in a new layer of plaid to match the patterns of the golfers. They created this pattern using removable vinyl that was about half a mile long. I was a Standard Bearer and proudly carried the score sign for many notable golfers of that era. Don't tell them, but I would have done it for free. We young volunteers would ride our bikes to the course first thing in the morning and stay all day. We would gather at the finish of 18th to gather autographs and collect golf balls given to us by the pros. Fast forward many years and…
