“Is Hilton Head Island Pet Friendly?” is a question I am asked all the time.

YES, Hilton Head Island is very dog friendly!

You can bring your dog to the beach everyday. The only time dogs are NOT permitted to the beach is from 10-5 the Friday before Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. And honestly, it is too hot for your dog to be on the beach then. All other times, go ahead! Keep your dog on a leash and under voice control at all times though. It’s fun to watch some of them venturing into the ocean for their first time. One of my dogs thinks he can catch dolphins.

We also have the Best Friends Dog Park/Chaplin Park. This is the largest dog park on the island. In fact, it even has a smaller fenced section for the smaller dogs. There are

Come celebrate Hilton Head Island's 36th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. On Sunday, March 17th, the parade will be starting at 3pm, so make sure you get there much earlier to claim your spot. The streets all along Pope Avenue and Office Park Rd get filled up quickly as over 25,000 spectators come out for this event. So, you can only imagine how much fun it is. You will see some people with tents and their own catered food and drinks. Some are very elaborate.  You can either watch the parade or be in it. Any business or non profit organization can be in the parade. You can rent a float or just walk or drive. Anyone can also sponsor the parade. They have many ways and levels in which you can participate. To volunteer, call 843-616-3604.

Now, you get a paper bag in most places. And, of course, almost everyone has a reusable bag for sale with their company name on it. I may have to jump on the bandwagon and get some made as well. :)   Now, when you hear plastic bag ban, we are talking about restaurants, food stores, Walmarts, etc...… We are still using plastic bags for our garbage bags, newspaper bags, bags for pet…

I have been a realtor since 2005. I took some time off to raise a family and take care of family members and now I’m back to full time status, excited and ready to dedicate myself to clients. I graduated from Moravian college in Pennsylvania with a BA degree in Sociology and Psychology. After working in the corporate world for a few years, I learned I was not suited for a typical desk job. This eventually led me to pharmaceutical sales. After seven successful years in the industry my family and I took a vacation to Hilton Head and were so drawn to the island that we decided to take a leap and move, parlaying my pharmaceutical sales experience in to real estate sales on the island. Now a family of five, we have happily lived on the island for 15 years,
